Good times…
Well, if you have been reading the blog, you know that I went to Chicago this weekend with Luber, Log, Ben and Nikki. The cubs/cards game was pretty much the reason for the trip. Secondly, if you watched the games this weekend between the two teams you might have seen the 2-1 loss on Friday, then the 6-0 win on Saturday, and of course the great game but eventual lose of 12-7 in overtime on Sunday. John was pleased and I guess thats all that matters but I have enough Cubs gear to last me a lifetime now! HA. I don’t mind so much. I like the cubs and I love the Chitown so its fine by me. The weekend was a blast. We met plenty of interesting cabbies as well as a few characters on our trip, drinks at a handful of bars, and with a little advice from a few friends, had a change of direction and went to smart bar for some good tunes. With no arrests or public intox charges, i’d have to say it was an all in all pretty “by the book” vacation. We got to hit all the spots previously mentioned and hit a few new ones. I picked up a few shirts and managed to get Shelley a few things. I picked up a shot glass for Dirt and some cool magnets for the fridge. Also managed to see an old friend or two. The ride home was fun as well as tiring. By the time we got back to Memphis, I was pooped. Hell of a time with some good peoples and close friends. Happy Birthday John, hope the trip was as fun as you hoped! Ill be trying to get the photo gallery back up and running very soon and i’ll have plenty of pics AND video to post from the trip!
That’s right…. heading to Chicago this weekend to celebrate Luber’s bday. Even though his birthday was in Jan, Nikki got involved with hooking up a surprise for him in buying tickets to a cardinals/cubs game. I agreed to go as I’m sure it will be fun. Of course looking back on it, i should have considered the fact John won’t shut up about how the cardinals rule and how they will smash the cubs, blahblahblah, probably but we’ll see. Log, another Cubs fan (thank god im not alone now!) joined in on the trip, making 5 people including Ben, Nikki, John Brian and myself. They wanted to opt for airline tickets which is kind of pricey seeing as I just got back from beaver creek but the timing wasnt planned properly on my part. I agreed to this back in Jan and the ski trip was planned after. Oh well, the more i think about it, it would be pretty expensive anyways to ride with gas prices the way they are. I’m sure an S.U.V. would have been taken to fit us all. Keep in mind, im not bitch about it. I’m excited to go it was just all kind of thrown out there. That usually makes for an interesting trip experience, and with the mixed company we have, it will definitely be. John wants to hit up a few familiar places including the Lion’s Head Pub (
