One a day or two since I’ve been back and the music is still playing over in my head. This years trip was one to remember. I was asked to give my thoughts on who stuck out but honestly I didn’t think anyone did because everyone was so on point. I think getting to perform at the BangTech12 party really changed my perceptions on the whole weekend and I felt more like I was apart of it than just being there experiencing it. The pre-party completely set up the rest of the trip for nothing but fun times. I went ahead and post most of the pics I have minus the blurries and “what the hell was that” shots. I also managed to get a lot of good video of the Plastikman performance as well as Innercity, Model 500 and Bookashade live. Those are a bit large and i’ll have to post them later. I am really happy that with the help of friends, I managed to hand out all the cds that got made and a decent amount of flyers, considering the guards at the gate wouldn’t allow me to bring in my bag. It was a successful trip in that respect for sure.
I also consider the trip to the motherland a rejuvenation of sorts as well as justification on what it is that I love and do. Playing techno in Memphis is not the most rewarding of dj genres. I have to give props to my fellow brethren who stick with it regardless of the hip-hop and pop music culture that at times drowns us out. Make no mistake, Techno is alive and well. Now that I’m back, I feel supercharged and motivated to get back to work in the studio. Speaking about Movement, let’s get this machine started again and get moving forward.
